The truth is, the last couple of years haven’t been easy. We haven’t been fighting at the front in the way we’re accustomed to. And that’s tough, not just for me, but for the entire team. It requires a different kind of resilience, a different kind of motivation. It tests your faith. It challenges you to dig deeper, to push harder, to find solutions where none seem to exist.
I’ve been through tough times before, of course. But this feels different. The competition is fiercer than ever. Other teams have made significant strides. And we need to be honest with ourselves: we’re not where we want to be.
One of my biggest concerns is the pace of development. F1 is a constantly evolving beast. You can’t stand still; you have to keep pushing, keep innovating, keep finding those marginal gains that make all the difference. And I need to be confident that we’re doing everything possible to stay ahead of the curve.

Ultimately, my decision to sign this contract was based on a belief in the potential of this team, in the power of collaboration, in the possibility of achieving something truly special. I believe we can get back to the top. I believe we can win more championships. But it’s going to take hard work, dedication, and a willingness to embrace change.
I’m not afraid of a challenge. I’ve never backed down from a fight. And I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got. But I also need to be realistic. Success is not guaranteed. There are no easy victories in Formula 1.
